Owen Kirschenberg

Owen grew up in Melbourne with a clear ambition to become a maker from an early age. He purchased his first lathe at the age of 12. Owen was fortunate to receive mentoring from two local artisans, Peter McBride and Matty Fazio. By the age of 18, Owen had completed various short courses, attended events such as the Lost Trades Fair, and established a well-equipped workshop in his mother’s shed. By 19, Owen was running his own furniture practice.

In 2024, Owen was awarded the Gottstein Trust Scholarship to attend the Dunstone Design Production Masterclass. This opportunity marked his initial collaboration with the DD team, who quickly recognized his potential.

Owen’s work is influenced by Japanese woodworking techniques and aesthetics. His personal design style is characterized by its simplicity and minimalist approach. In his leisure time, Owen enjoys camping, hiking, and attending live music performances.

Owen joined Dunstone Design in March 2025.
