We run a small number of Masterclasses in our workshop every year. Our three key courses are our Summer Hand Tools Masterclass, our Production Masterclass and our Design & Development Masterclass. A Private Mentoring Session is available at any time. Join our mailing list to keep up to date with our offerings.
Private Mentoring Session
I’m regularly asked for small bits of advice and I’d never discourage simple questions. Just email me evan@dunstonedesign.com.au.
Some of you have more complex questions and you hold back because you don’t wish to impose. I’ve developed the Private Mentoring Session so you can “ask me anything” without feeling uncomfortable about it. More info here:

Summer Hand Tools 2022- Week One
January 17, 2022 @ 8:30 am - January 21, 2022 @ 4:00 pm
$2,200.00Summer Hand Tools 2022 focusses on hand-cut dovetails and fitting a traditionally made drawer to a carcass.
You will be making a wall-hung cabinet to receive one drawer. This piece could be used as a minimalist bed side table, a wall mounted jewelry box or an entryway keys and phone store. You could also modify the design to act as a traditional jewelry box that sits on a piece of furniture.
All the components will be pre-machined and accurately dimensioned for you. Day one and two will focus on making and detailing the wall mounted carcass. Day three, four and five will cover every aspect of making and fitting a traditional drawer to your carcass. The drawer will feature slips and dovetails. You will make and fit one of our signature Arch handles from a wide selection of timber.
The class runs 8:30am to 4pm, Monday 17th January to Friday 21nd January, 2021.
This class is only available to the double vaccinated or people with a medical exception. We will be complying with any relevant NSW COVID Safe rules in place at the time of the course.
The class will be taught by Evan Dunstone and multi-award-winning Dunstone Design craftsman William Bayliss (winner of the 2019 Wootha Prize and 2021 AWR Maker of the Year).

The class is limited to 10 students and tickets can be bought online. Tickets are not transferable. For you personal comfort, we suggest you bring your personal PPE of dust mask, hearing protection and safety glasses. Feel free to bring as many of your hand tools as you like (no power tools).
A deposit of $200 is required at the time of ordering. This deposit is fully refundable in the event that we have to delay or cancel the course due to COVID restrictions. The full cost of the course is $2,200 incl. GST. This price includes materials, consumables and meals as described.
