The Wren occasional table was commissioned by an Adelaide couple in 2012. The design showcases the potential for combining re-sawn veneers with solid timber from the same boards. Originally made in river red gum (pictured) this design can showcase “difficult” timbers as well as more conventional cabinet timbers. The Wren is the princess in our stable of occasional and small tables. A technically complex piece to craft, the Wren requires precision and patience on the part of the maker. This is a design for those with a serious interest in fine furniture and a passion for Australian timbers.
