The Sabine is the completed version of our popular Alpha Chair Kit. It embodies the last 20 years of Evan’s journey of studying and practising chair design. The Sabine is comfortable, practical and environmentally friendly. The Sabine is especially at home in a holiday home or a casual dining area.
The Sabine is made from blackwood “shorts”- oddly sized stock left over from the milling and docking process. Timber shorts are often under-utilized and can even go to waste. The vibrant natural colour variations and swirling grain of the beautiful Victorian blackwood is a feature of the design.
