Sabine Chair

The Sabine was inspired by our (discontinued) Alpha Chair Kit. It embodies the last 20 years of Evan’s journey of studying and practicing chair design. The Sabine is comfortable, practical and environmentally friendly. The Sabine is especially at home in a casual dining setting.

The Alpha Chair Kit was originally made from blackwood “shorts”- oddly sized stock left over from the milling and docking process. When this source of timber dried up, we discontinued offering the kits. In 2022, we decided to upgrade and finesse the Sabine design. It’s now a colour-matched chair with an oil finish. We’ve tweaked a few of the fine details so that it’s now aligned with all Dunstone Design chairs.

The Sabine is available in the timber of your choice. This design can be supplied with an upholstered seat and/or upholstered back. We can ebonize the frame and use non-chair timbers, such as red gum, for the seats and backs, as these are not structural elements. In short, the Sabine is a highly versatile design that can be tweaked to suit your lifestyle.

The Sabine chair goes extremely well with the Sabine Table and the Wave Stool.
