The award winning Tamar chair was conceived by designer/maker Evan Dunstone whilst teaching chair design at the Australian School of Fine Furniture, University of Tasmania , Launceston, in 2007. He considers it his best low back dining chair and one of his favorite designs generally.

Reviewing the Tamar chair, Master Craftsman and educator Neil Erasmus wrote In Craft Arts International (NO.72) “Lastly, Evan Dunstone 's new Tamar Chair …is worthy of special mention. It is a modest, poised and quiet design… A beautiful design that pays its respects to the past while managing to be firmly planted in today's world.”
