The Academic chair was originally commissioned by a Canberra based Professor of Classical History. She required a study chair for her home office that “made her want to go to work in the morning”.

The Academic is the ancestor of the Cascade rocker and the Werriwa lounge chair. It won the Australian Wood Review's “Fine Furniture” award in 2004 and set the standard in comfort for all Dunstone Design chairs. It is Evan's favorite chair to sit in when he is at shows around the country.
